I can’t be posting the ol’ previs, don’t want to spoil that of course, but here are some stills. The timecodes are added in the editor, and the shot numbers are added in XSI with a wee script I wrote which gets the name of the Sequence/Shot etc. from a custom paramater (that is made/used) when saving the scene.

In some shots the lighting is such an important tool in the narative, we had to do a rough set up and render them out instead of just doing captures. Maybe we should do the final film like that, save some time :)




post Pre Vis Models

As this is so very exciting I thought I would share.
As well as the environment on the post below, over 1:30min of previs has been produced, though its hard to say exactly how far through the film we are at that time position :).

So here, just for reference is an example of a previs model, our hero’s bedroom in fact, and the level of detail needed when making previs (not much). But how useful it is doing the initial basic layout can’t be undervalued as a base to work from.
